HOTS 2016

Postby IainW » 03 May 2016, 15:58

Right who's doing this? Just realised it's actually quite soon!

I'm just going for the day, anyone want to lift share?

Yup. My current plan is to take Friday off (if nice) and spend some time with the family mooching round the area, then register, set-up tent and come back the next day. Camping Saturday night unless no one else is/weather really sh*t.

I don't plan to go as hard at it this year (mostly because I'm no where near as fit as last year), but also don't plan on waiting around. If I'm camping and have the legs/not too hungover I'm hoping to explore some of the singletrack trails crafted around Nibley Knoll to the north of Wotton-under-Edge on Sunday morning. They looked cracking the other week.

If its not a stormy mess im camping sat night (otherwise you miss out on beer & roller racing - dont be lame iain...) Might set up tent on fri but sleep here & drive over first thing like last time.
Speed - erm.. Havent been on bike in 3 weeks due to epic cough so see how it goes. Actually want to do the 75km this time instead of taking shortcuts!

I will go with the majority, although the evening always seems more of a village fete to me.

An alternative would be to do something in Bristol instead? Start the bbq season early?

Weather looks OK, so I'm going to camp Saturday night. See after the ride how my back feels about singletrack on the sunday!
